Cruz Azul rolls to a CCC title PLUS: CentAm champions & one-time switches in the Conca-catch-up
Cruz Azul is the team that can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but there was no way they would screw this up. The Concacaf Champions Cup final was over in the eighth minute, totally decided by the 28th. The trophy engraver may as well have gotten started during the first half.
Cruz Azul played so well, winning balls in dangerous areas, converting shots from outside the box, and the Vancouver Whitecaps played so poorly that there was never a doubt about the outcome. In the end, it was 5-0, the most lopsided final since 1990.
When the game was over, Cruz Azul manager Vicente Sanchez participated in his post-match ritual, falling to his knees in prayer. Being doused in purple Gatorade by his celebrating players was a new one.

Everyone is aware it may be the last time Sanchez oversees the team.
