Javier Aguirre has selected his Mexico squad for friendly matches against Panama and Bolivia. While the matches are taking place outside the FIFA window, Liga MX is pausing to give El Tri the best possible preparation for the 2026 World Cup, which Mexico will kick off on home soil and where it hopes to make it to the final rounds taking place in the U.S.

Key players based in Europe obviously aren’t available. That means the absence of players like forward Raul Jimenez, midfielder Edson Alvarez, and center back duo Johan Vasquez and Cesar Montes.
