Tigres is one of the best-supported teams in the Americas, with their famous Libres y Lokos supportersโ€™ group known not only for great displays in the stands but also the lengths they go to off the field to support their club.

That love is repaid by players like forward Andre-Pierre Gignac, who has celebrated goals by displaying their Double L hand sign and goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman, who wore one of the groupโ€™s shirt during warm-ups in the repechaje match, which saw the group suspended and unable to attend.

Plenty more fans than just LyL members turn up for the welcomes as hundreds of fans await, then cheer the team bus when it arrives at the stadium, waving banners, singing and lighting fireworks.

But, you have to remember those are real fireworks.

At least four fans were injured in the incident (a gross, though not hideous, photo of someoneโ€™s thumb has circulated and this video shows a guy walking into an ambulance), so hopefully everyone has avoided serious harm.

Typically when we talk about the fireworks in Liga MX, weโ€™re talking about the crazy goals. Weโ€™ve got those too! In fact, letโ€™s get to those. Best wishes to the Tigres supporters who were injured.

Are Tigres turning the corner?
