🏡 In Liga MX, there's no place like home

After the midweek matches in the Liga MX quarterfinals, it was clear. This is a league in which it is very, very difficult to win away from home. The good news for the favorites was that, in the Liguilla, both teams get a home game. The bad news is that for all but one, it didn’t matter.
The No. 5 seed, the No. 6 seed and the No. 7 seed are into the semifinals, and the No. 8 seed didn’t miss by much.
Liga MX does a nice job incentivizing teams to have a good regular season. The team that has the better finish moves on automatically when there is a tie.
The format isn’t to blame here. The losing teams and their coaches are.
