😱 Leagues Cup is serious business
The Disciplinary Committee was busy as teams take the tournament seriously...maybe too seriously.
Imagine, for a moment, the life of a member of the Leagues Cup Disciplinary Committee, a body that I wasn’t entirely sure existed until recently.
You know there are going to be some scuffles and some red cards. There always are when MLS and Liga MX teams come together.
You’ll have to look at red card appeals. Ho-hum, nothing to see here.
Sometimes you’ll get a headbutt so clearly a red card that the team won’t even file an appeal, but you have to tack on an extra game. That’s all part of the gig.
What you will not have anticipated is seeing a club quoting Joseph Goebbels, explaining who he was, defending the decision for a few hours, then apologizing, and finally deleting the post.
All this came after a game Atlas won!
