The Concacast S01E01: Liga MX's CCC struggles + Trinidad & Tobago's State of Emergency

Yes, I'm finally doing a video show/podcast

It’s here. The Concacast.

Many readers have asked for it, and sometimes I’ve felt like it was something I wanted to do for my creative process. Until now, it’s never aligned. I’m going to give it a go, offering a 15 minute-30 minute weekly ‘show’ available in both video and audio formats. I’ll discuss the topics you’ve gotten used to me discussing: The biggest things happening in men’s soccer in the Concacaf region but also

I’ll also have an interview guest each week: Sometimes a player or manager, others a journalist or expert.

It’s going to be a little weird, and it won’t be for everyone. For now, it’s for me, and I hope it’s for you. Enjoy!

A few notes about the vision and direction of the Concacast with Jon Arnold:

  • The show will get a lot more bilingual - This week, it was mostly in English. Next week, it’ll be a nice mix. Everything will be subtitled. I’m just still figuring out the quickest and easiest way to make that happen.

  • The aim is to get the show out midweek - Whether it ends up coming out every Wednesday, every Thursday or sort of flexes remains to be seen.

  • It’s also on YouTube and Spotify, plus a few other places. Those are the main places people get their podcasts, so I’d love if you subscribed there as well - though it’ll live here on the Substack too.

  • This is part of an effort to be on camera more often, getting sharper with both my presence presenting and also my editing skills (eagle-eyed viewers will catch the star wipe … that ain’t a preset, folks). I won’t be writing less, but ‘creators’ and ‘journalists’ really have to diversify to earn a living on the Internet these days. I’m having a bit of fun with it.

Hope you love the show! Looking forward to your feedback and always appreciate your support.
