I think the Nations League will help second-tier Concacaf teams like Jamaica and Panama, and all the smaller nations, but it wonβt help top-tier teams (by which I mean the four who qualified this year) and wonβt overcome the loss of friendlies caused by the UEFA Nations League. (And I think the whole world outside Europe suffers; African and Asian teams could sure use those friendlies too.)
Definitely. I think that's why it would be a huge win for Concacaf if it can convince the South American execs that CONMEBOL needs Concacaf for more than just cash.
If the CONMEBOL-UEFA alliance keeps growing, I do wonder if Concacaf links with both AFC and CAF to try to counter it, but that's some down-the-road game theory.
Great work this week! Iβm not too familiar with the Mexican league, so Iβm looking forward to the preview.
