Can you further cover this subject and explain it? These teams participate in World Cup Qualifying yet are not eligible to move on.. or Do you have articles on this on previous newsletters?

Hi Manuel!

They do not participate in World Cup qualification or any other FIFA competition (The World Cup, youth World Cups, etc.) but are eligible to participate in Concacaf competitions like the Nations League, Gold Cup, U-20 Championships, etc.

Thanks, Carlos! Yes, and Thuram stands apart as actually having been born there. Other big names who have Guadeloupe heritage (Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka, William Gallas) were, of course, born in the mainland.
